Finally! Service!!!! (that was torture for me) LOL
First Moto in 50cc 4-8 Kyle was on fire! He got 1st place, passing 2nd from the first gate drop and going after 1st (from 1st gate drop) but caught the checkered flag first. Next moto was his 1st moto in the 50cc 7-8 class. The gate was stacked with 24 riders and my goodness, they are FAST!!!! He got a good start and raced remarkably well finishing with a 5th place. Outstanding for his first race of the year, very little seat time, and being one of the newbies (youngest) in the class. Out of the top 5 finishers, Kyle and his team mate and very good friend Will Canaguier were the youngest! Very impressive boys!!
So 2nd motos were eventful!!! Kyle had a great lead in the 4-8 class when he crashed and was pinned under the bike for a good bit. He had no brakes and something not good happened to the bike but hey, I’m the marketing person not the mechanic. Anyways he finished 2nd for 2nd overall.
So Dave had to run to the trailer and I had to wait at finish line exit to tell Kyle to rush back so Dave can fix the bike because his next moto was already in staging for the 7-8 qualifying race. Kyle was all upset and crying and I said go!!!! What happened was he had no breaks and something broke off and blah blah i don’t know the rest, (too technical) but I know that Dave worked his tail off to get it fixed in very little time. Kyle made it to the gate just in time and was clearly flustered. He got a good start but you can tell his head was a mess. Nonetheless he rode very well and finished 8th in moto 2 for a 7th overall. So, he QUALIFIED for the SE Regional!!!!!!!!! Woot woot!
We are extremely proud of him and all of the riders!! This was Kyles first race of 2016 and he hasn’t had much practice so he actually really impressed us. I will say I learned a lot today.
1. A lot of people know about MX Zen and we are multiplying our membership daily!!
2. There are 2 little 4-6 riders that blew my mind with their natural talent and how advanced they are. Sadly, I learned one of them doesn’t have 1 sponsor. His mom is a single mom and doesn’t know what to do or where to even begin… Only proving why MX Zen is so critical to this sport. Her son literally is one to watch! I was certain he was a cobra factory rider and that is why I approached her because he and Brenner Lammens are incredibly talented. They dominated that track! The young boys name is Mason Raynor. Im pretty sure he will be an MX Zen’er very soon.
The 4-6 class was really fun to watch! There is definitely some major talent!
3. I learned that the new Factory Works Edition Cobra Sr is definitely more powerful than the stock cobra and extremely impressive. Being on a budget has had us questioning if the upgrade is worth the financial sacrifice. Well its clear that if you want to have a chance against one of those bikes, you need to be on one! The 2 riders on the FWE bikes were so far ahead and you could clearly see the power difference. This is coming from my Non Mechanic / non bike tech perspective. So if thats what I noticed, imagine what the experienced people noticed.
This race brought so much clarity to my mission with MX Zen! People need information. Racers need to know how incredible and brave they are. They need to know how much we admire and respect them. Parents need support and guidance. That little Mason raced at Loretta’s last year and even made podium and I have never heard of him, never saw pics of him on social media, and he doesn’t have 1 sponsor!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!! I’m sorry but this infuriates me!!! Not even 1 sponsor!
This is going to change!!!!!! MX Zen is moving forward full speed!! Everyone on my staff is so passionate, dedicated, and is making so many sacrifices both financially and with over 14 hours of work with no pay. We believe in this mission and all of us attended races this weekend and we all left with the confirmation that what we are doing is needed and its needed by everyone in mx. The beginners, the minis, the national riders, the privateers, the tracks, and even the sponsors. It is needed and it is coming….. whether we have 80 members or 4000 we are going to work our asses off to change this industry because its severely lacking in so many ways and letting every family down!! So, add advocates to our list of services!!
I am so proud of my baby Kyle Born and he is proud of himself…. and Im doing this because he inspires me to give, love, help, support, and make a difference. I wont let him or any of the other racers, families, and my teams down!!
Now, get on the phone and call Allegan Motorsports and order your CWE Cobra SR. LOL
Much love and respect ~
